Wake - Lisa McMann " Book One : Contemporary Teen Novel"

Wake (Wake Series, Book 1) A couple of years back I tried to read the series by Lisa McMann and found that I couldn't get into , but after watching the new movie "Inception". I decided to give it another go and now I'm thinking that back then I just obviously wasn't in the right frame of mind for the story.

Review : Wake - Lisa McMann - 2008

After watching the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio "Inception" , the whole dream in a dream sounded like a really good idea and sent a little buzz to re-read the trilogy by Lisa McMann starting with the first book "Wake".
For as long as Janie can remember , she has had the gift or curse depending on which way you look at it , as it just happens to float into peoples dreamworlds. When Janie falls for fellow classmate Cabe , she realises that soon her dreams are turning into nightmares as now she is becoming a participant in the dreams rather than the observer she has been. Soon the dreams are happening more and more . When Janie is confronted with the dream world, she is about to realise that these dreams are bigger than she ever thought. We read as Janie is suddenly thrown into the world of Drugs,Crime , Love and Relationships and soon Janie must face the facts that if she can't control and separate the two worlds , her view is going to fade and soon she will not be able to tell reality from dreamworlds.
An excellent series for those interested in the dreamworld but also for all those teens that want a little contemporary reading on the side with love, sex and relationships not to mention the throes of school and parents and jobs.

Stay Tuned Readers as I read and review Book #2 in the series "Fade"
