Review: The Derby Girl -Getting Physical Series Book #2 - Tamara Morgan - August 2013

Gretchen is your fun loving middle aged woman . In her 30's she is a lover of learning , a lifesaver and teacher of Aqua jogging , a barista at Java Coffee Club and a member of her local Roller Derby team. On a way home one night from Roller Derby, she comes across a guy - Dr. Jared Fine stranded on the road with a flat tire. Their conversation goes from great to Jared being an jerk within a few minutes. However, Jared hasn't meet anyone so invigorating and awesome and wants to know Gretchen more. Gretchen on the other hand doesn't like getting too attached.  Can a Derby Girl fall in love with a distinguished Doctor ?
I loved this book and the character Gretchen as she didn't care what people thought exactly of her except for her sisters of course which I can understand.  I also loved the fact that she cared for her Gran when no-one else would and that underneath her tough façade of tattoos and roller derby that she is such a sweet and sensitive girl as in the book : note the Wally the Lobster connection. As I have yet to read the first book in this series, I have it on my Ipad to read, I am now looking forward to it and seeing how that one turns out.
