Review: Lowcountry Boil - Book #1 Liz Talbot Mystery - Susan M. Boyer - September 2012

One of my favourite genres to read is mysteries and every now and again , I feel in the mood for something light but with a tad bit of substance so I head for my cozy mysteries and my favourite publishing company for these is Henery Press. Today's mystery is Book #1 in the Liz Talbot series and is set in the heart of the southern society. Liz , years ago and after making several bad choices hightailed out of town and started up her own PI business alongside her ex-husband's brother Nate. Life has been chugging along great until Liz sees a ghost - the ghost is of her friend who died when she was fourteen and has a message for her to "come home". Soon after the message is delivered , Liz's phone rings and it's her older police chief brother Blake with news that her grandmother Emma Rae has passed away. This should have just been an easy dip in and dip out but turns out that Liz has inherited her grandmother's estate and that maybe her grandmother didn't die of an accident but of murder. Eager to uncover the truth no matter what, Liz with the help of her ghost guardian and her skills as a PI must uncover what really happened to Grandma. However, what she will unravel is a plot that someone has been wanting to keep quiet for the past thirty to forty years and also seems that some dirty work has been going on for a while around Stella Maris and Liz's grandma had hidden all the dirt which in the wrong hands could expose all the townspeople's darkest secrets.  Can Liz get to the bottom of her grandma's murder without causing more trouble or should Liz's surname been Trouble instead of Talbot ?
Find out in this awesome new mystery which you will enjoy if you loved Terri Austin's Rose Strickland Series.
