Review: Secrets of a Chalet Girl - Lorraine Wilson

Review: Secrets of a Chalet Girl - Book #2 Ski Season Series - Lorraine Wilson - October 2013

From the cover of the book it looks like a fun light-hearted chicklit novel , one that reminds me of the movie Chalet Girl which is what I thought the book would be more about , however what happens is that it's a novel that starts off with a friend's bachelorette party and a dare to kiss the most attractive man in the pub. The girl on the cover is Flora - the main female lead , nervous and out of a bad relationship she lands her eyes on a guy attached to the hand with his cellphone. She walks up and WHAM BAM - sparks fly everywhere. The male lead is named Zac, he too is here for the wedding. What then turns into a one night stand novel and a random hookup becomes quite a deep novel as the author Lorraine Wilson delves deeper into the character's past and we as the reader are confronted with instances of affairs and physical abuse from husbands towards wives etc. Will this fling turn into something more when it's time to part ways or will they discover that what they had actually provides deeper meaning to both their lives  ? This book was a novella and was a quick read if you are looking for something to read either on your lunch break or just before bed . Also I think for this book, you will not have to have read the first one to catch the gist of it. It can be read as a stand-alone or part of the series.
