When Alyssa was younger, she dreamed of fairytale romances and loving her husband till death do us part. That was until one day; she realized that love like that didn't exist and instead her relationship was lived in fear. Alyssa's husband Daniel is an abuser and has isolated Alyssa so much from the world; she has nowhere to go. This book spoke to me, as I watched not as bad as this but growing up my father treat my mother horribly and I never realized how much it affected me until I moved out of home and certain things I will ask permission for and my partner is like you don't have to ask - you can help yourself.
