First off , I have to admit that I didn't know this was going to be an "I'm in love with my Stepbrother type book " . However , as I got reading it I have to say that this was one of the better stepbrother-love type books as it was written with the late YA/ early NA's in mind as it wasn't over the top sexual like alot of the stepbrother books around . In The Summer Before Forever, we meet Chloe who is headed to her Dad's alongside best friend Jenna to meet his new wife-to-be and brother Landon. Chloe just thinks she will have the experience of a brother but she never expected to fall in love especially since her track record is non-existent and the one time she hooks up with a guy she is almost raped. Reeling from the incident Chloe is cautious and shy but being around her best friend Jenna who is the complete opposite - they form a "Get Chloe out of her Shell" bucket list as we read through the book and live the moments that Jenna and Chloe tick off from singing Karaoke to more heartfelt moments like finally talking to her Dad after their almost non-existent relationship. Will this Summer be the end of the Landon and Chloe fling ? Is it something that needs to be gotten out of the way before their parents are married or will their love for each other run deeper than either one will realise ? The Summer Before Forever is one of those Romance Meets Stepbrother Meets New Family meets Finding Yourself and Discovering who you really are before college begins type of reads.
