VBT # Text Me, Maybe - Jolyse Barnett

Before I start, I have to admit I am not sure whether this was the updated version of the book or not as according to sources Jolyse Barnett updated the story after listening to customer's feedback the first time around - earlier this year when her book was published. So if my review is a little different to the book you have read, then I apologise in advance. Do you remember the classic novel Cyrano De Bergerac ? The one where loosely there were two best friends and they both had a crush on a guy and so what happened was that one of the friends was a quiet and normally stood in the shadows and the other was the pretty one and the extrovert who always got her way. In the story the lesser of the pretties started writing to him and over time they fell in love and connected , however the male had still in his mind it was the other girl. Text Me, Maybe is the 22nd century version where instead of writing letters, emails or sending IM's we have texting . Lexie has started a new job and really wants to keep it and she will do anything to make sure she isn't fired, when her new boss Sylvia gives her a task and lets her know her life depends on it - she will give it her all. Syvia has a crush on one of the gym trainers who we nickname Steel as in Buns of Steel. With Lexie's background in English Lit and BOS - a part-time Lit Professor , she believes it's the perfect way to catch his attention. What will happen though when Lexie starts to fall for her texting buddy and more so he does too ? Will Lexie get a HEA or will Buns of Steel go for her boss as he believes she is the "one" for him ? Text Me, Maybe reminded me also of the movies A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song with Lucy Hale.  As we take the words of Carly Rae Jepsen and substitute Call with Text , I advise you to check out Text Me, Maybe by Jolyse Barnett.
