Drop Dead Divas - Virginia Brown

Today must be a day of mysteries as I bring to you a new chick-lit/light -hearted mystery to curl up in a chair and discover whodunnit .

                                                                     Drop Dead Divas

Review : Drop Dead Divas - Virginia Brown - Sept 2010

I have always had a bit of a soft-spot when it comes to reading books set in the Southern states of America , I love their names like Gaylenne and Rayne Blue , Bitty , Trinkle Trueview . You can sit back and just imagine these names and imagine what the owner is like , short- blonde , big hair - bouncy personality with their country club memberships and big flash houses.
Drop Dead Diva's is a light -hearted chick-lit mystery , that takes place a few months after the first book finished with Bitty being released and all charges dropped of her accusation to murdering her ex-husband . In Drop Dead Diva's we now witness the death of stock car driver - Race Champion and the accused is Naomi Staples - Bitty's ex-husband's mistress and now Race's fiancee. Of course, this novel wouldn't be very exciting if their wasn't a bit of gossip . Bitty is the head queen of a group of twelve women called the Dixie Divas , who gather over to discuss mainly gossip with their staple diets of chocolates and champagne and sometimes a mix of Earl Grey and Jack - that's Mr Daniels to you. When the lead suspect is found murdered in Bitty's cabin and the Dixie Divas are put in the main suspects shoes - it is up to the good ol' Southerner Dixie Divas to solve the mystery of course nothing is simple with them as we come across relationship issues , family issues and annoying handbag dog issues. Drop Dead Divas is a book that you will be chuckling your way through as it brings out the Southerner Diva humour.
