Review: All These Lives - Sarah Wylie - June 2012
Were you a fan of the TV show "The Nine Lives of Chloe King", or were you one of those people who read the book years before the TV show was released like me ?
All These Lives by Sarah Wylie reminded me of The Nine Lives of Chloe King as the main character Dani has been rumoured to have nine lives. We meet fraternal twins Dani and Jena , even though they are twins they couldn't be more different , it seems that Dani has nine lives whereas Jena only has one and her life is currently running out as we discover Jena has leukemia and Dani and her parents are not a match for a bone marrow transplant to occur. Dani feels and believes that maybe if she shortened her life and used her nine lives up maybe just maybe it would rub off onto Jena's lifeline. As the book goes along we read as Dani causes many accidents and NDE's to shorten her lives and we see Jena still plugging along. The only downside for me is that I got really into the story and then about 3/4 the way through after the call-backs for Dani's audition and Dani's epiphany about Jena , I got confused and the book started to lose sense and unfortunately the last part of the book was downhill for me, other than that I really did enjoy the first 3/4 of the novel.
