Every now and again on my site , I get the opportunity to read, review or recieve information about upcoming Children Book releases.
One that surfaced my inbox was the new Jacqueline Wilson book "The Longest Whale Song" . For me Jacqueline Wilson will always be one of my favourite authors as she is the one who I first read when I moved to Chapter Books besides ones like Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High. The first book I read of Jacqueline Wilson's was The Suitcase Kid. From then on I made it my goal to read and keep up with all of her releases.

That means Ella has to live with Jack, her hopeless stepfather and cope with her tiny newborn brother, as well as worrying about Mum. The only thing that's going right is her school project. It's all about whales and how they sing out to each other to attract a mate - sometimes for hours. Maybe a whale song could reach Mum, wherever she is, and bring her back to Ella and baby Samson. Surely it's worth a try?

  Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling.
