Review : Mistaken Identity - Don and Susie Van Ryn , Newell, Colleen and Whitney Cerak- 2008

Imagine waking up one day and finding out that people thought you were somebody else and that you had died in a terrible car accident ? For Whitney Cerak , that is exactly what happened - it was a story that was talked about all around the world. The case of the Mistaken Identity and one family thinking that it was their daughter and another burying the girl they thought was their daughter. For Five weeks , Whitney Cerak laid in a coma and people thought she was Laura Van Ryn , friends, family etc. Whereas the Ceraks had just experienced the worst heartache anyone can - they thought that they had just buried their oldest daughter Whitney. Five weeks later , Whitney wakes up and it is then, that the hospital realise that the mistake has been made that this is in fact Whitney not Laura. For these two families, heartache comes to them both in all directions from the Van Ryns who thought their daughter was alive and now has to live with the fact that she has died and the Ceraks who had buried and grieved for the daughter they thought had died but was in fact very much alive. Mistaken Identity is easy to read and in parts , you will find your eyes tearing up with the revelations and stories that feature thoroughout the book , you will feel sorrow for both families as they both lost something during this journey.
A non-fiction book that I recommend everyone should read :)
