VBT# Things You Can't Take - Erin Lockwood
Review: Things You Can't Take - Erin Lockwood - January 2018
After reading and enjoying
All of the Rogers, when I saw that Erin Lockwood had a new one being released, I knew I wanted to read it.
Things You Can't Take takes us into the world of two best friends Kessia and
Abigail. One wanted to be a big star, and
the other had no interest in the world of Hollywood. Kessia and Abigail met
when they were six years old on the set of a commercial for Vitamin Bread. The
two became instant friends, especially when Kessia took the blame for Abigail
and it was the commercial that set Abigail's career skyrocketing into the world
of television and movies. Abigail's family became Kessia's second family, and she later became Abigail's assistant. The
two were inseparable, that was an
incident split them up, and they drifted
apart. In the Hollywood world, which this
was timely released due to the whole #MeToo issue was Pete - a movie producer
and a big name in the Hollywood circles. Kessia had always felt off around him,
and she has good reasons too, but when he threatens her best friend
after the incident, Kessia makes the decision to cut off all ties with Abigail
as she would do anything to protect her best friend. The novel then jumps
two years into the future, and Abigail is revealed Kessia's secret and Kessia with the
help of her best friend's family will have to relive the worst moment of her
life. What will happen though when it looks like Pete might win the case and
worst get full custody of Kessia's daughter?
Abigail must now take things into her own hands and protect her best friend, something she should have done years
ago as there are some things that you can't just take willy-nilly.
I’m so glad you liked it!!! Thank you for the review :)
