Review: Juliana - Adelle Laudan
Review: Juliana - Women of Strength Series - Adelle Laudan - October 2012
This was quite a difficult read in parts as if you are not
one to read abusive stories; then this is
definitely not the read for you. In Juliana,
we learn that she has been married for
the past seven years to an abusive husband. In parts,
the book is quite graphic to the abuse that Juliana suffered, and in parts,
it did make me tear up, and I felt
disgusted. Now her husband is dead as he was
killed in an accident, Juliana is finally free. The first thing she does
is call her sister Cyndi whom she hasn't had contact with in all those years as
her husband distanced and made sure she cut all contact. Her sister is shocked
and horrified when she learns what she has suffered the past seven years. Cyndi
and her husband Josh take Juliana into their home and help her to overcome her
past and to show her that it's alright to move on. What I loved about this book
was that in the end, Juliana got
everything her heart desired and was able to bless others as her husband had
been quite wealthy, not that she ever realized
as for the past seven years she had been his slave and only given the bare
minimum. Out of all of the Women of Strength books I have read so far, this
would have to be one of the more sadder yet powerful novels and heartwrenching
books. One that you will need tissues for as you read parts. The thing that I
loved most though was that Juliana did finally get the best HEA she could ever
wish for in her life.
