Review: Unknown Caller - Lisa Unger
Review: Unknown Caller - We Could Be Heroes Series - Lisa Unger - January 2023
As the night was coming to an end, I wanted to read something so I grabbed a quick read on my Kindle. This one was a tough emotional read that will hit all your feelings as the book starts with Charlie who is working as a Crisis Centre lifeline operator. One night Charlie gets a call from someone who calls himself "no one". The song he is playing in the background brings Charlie back memories of when her friend killed herself. The book goes back to their college days and a website called The Dark Doorway and we meet two friends Chloe and Lanie - Chloe is awkward and a bit of a loner and Lanie is Miss Popular. That is until tragedy strikes and one of them ends up killing herself, the way that the other had described in her ideal way to kill herself on the Dark Doorway. Who knows about Charlie's background and her past and why now? Find out in Lisa Unger's book "Unknown Caller". If you are someone who has had suicidal thoughts or gone through it with others, then this book will be a somber read. It also serves as a reminder to everyone to remember to ask everyone if they are OK.
