Hey all , are you a big fan of the Television show "Sex and the City" , are you a Samantha , Carrie , Charlotte or Miranda ?. When somebody mentions Sex and the City, even if you are not a fan of the TV Series - chances are that you have a reasonable knowledge on what the other person is talking about. Or are you one of those people who prefer the books over the TV Show/Movies ?.

When it comes to Sex and The City , I am one of the latter people. I have read the books written by author Candace Bushell - in fact I have read everything written by Candace. :-) . Have you ever wondered what Carrie was like before entering the world of Sex and the City ? If so , then you will enjoy today's book review of Candace Bushell's latest release "The Carrie Diaries".

The Carrie Diaries - Candace Bushell -2010

Have you ever watched Sex and The City and thought hmmm, I wonder what the characters were like before Sex and The City. Author Candace Bushell brings to us a prequel of sorts in the format of the life of Carrie Bradshaw - a teenage girl in high school. Carrie always dreamed of becoming a writer , she had her fair share of boyfriends , girl troubles and friends/frenemies , she was on the swimming team, smoked cigarettes, vandalised and drunk alcohol , went to parties and wrote for her school newspaper.
Carrie was just like us all when we were in college. We read as Carrie is wowed by the new school Hottie Sebastian who turns out to be more trouble than any girl should have to handle , we read as Carrie takes the role as mother of her family when her mother passes away. When Carrie's dreams are dashed , she is heartbroken and dazed , however after the advice of a good friend George - Carrie decides to head back on track with her dream and heads off to the big city of New York , leaving just a note for her family. Ever wondered who the first person , Carrie met in New York , are you ready for it ..............Samantha.
This book is a delight and every teenage girl will relate to the experiences that Carrie went through in her teenage years. Excellent if you are a Sex and The City fan , but if you aren't then this is still a really good read - think along the lines of Louise Rennison's Angus,Thongs and Full-Frontal snogging.
