Review: Happy Trail - Daisy Prescott
Review: Happy Trail - Book #1 Park Ranger Series - Daisy Prescott - October 2019
This book starts with us
meeting Olive Perry who is in love with the idea of love, but when it gets to
say I do, she gets cold feet as she realizes she isn't actually in love with
them. Her current boyfriend Tye decides it will be fun to hike the Appalachian
Trail but glamping style of course. So the pair start hiking the trail, though
neither are hiking people. During their hike, Tyler thinks it will be cool to
propose to Olive but everything backfires when she realizes that he isn't her
'forever guy" and she is now left on the trail alone as he has gone back
to his "real life". Determined to follow through, Olive continues to
hike the trail and earns the nickname Snowbird. During her hike, there is a
call for a storm and snow. Enter in Ranger Jay Daniels who lives for the forest
and birds, this is his happy place. He has been given the task to make sure all
the current hikers are safe during the storm and along the way, as night nears
- he realizes he still hasn't found Snowbird. Eventually, he does and they
spend the night in an old abandoned cabin in the woods - cue horror music. As
the pair start spending time together, they both find themselves opening up and
Olive starts to wonder if Jay Daniels is her "forever guy". Just as
things start to look up though, Olive gets a phone call that requires her to immediately
head back home. The pair go their separate ways and then the book jumps to
about six months later when we learn that Olive has finished the trail, but is
her Park Ranger Jay Daniels still around for her to confess her love or has he
moved on to other things? As this is a Green Valley story, we catch glimpses
and tales of Winston's from Jethro, Cletus, Drew ( Ashley's husband) and a free
Little Library dedicated to Bethany Winston - which made me smile. If you are
like me and are loving the Smartypants Romance reads, then check out Happy
Trail by Daisy Prescott today.
