Deadly Cross (Alex Cross, #28)

Review: Deadly Cross - Book #28 Alex Cross Series - James Patterson - November 2020

It seems nothing can deter the Cross family as whenever tragedy strikes - whether it be bad bosses, slander, rumors, or death. This family bands together and tries to be supportive of one another no matter what.  In Deadly Cross, we have the shooting of a female and a male in the school parking lot, and Alex is called in the early morning to the crime scene as turns out he knows both the victims and well. One is the local school principal who is the father of twin girls who are best friends with Janine Cross- Alex's daughter and the other a socialite and the ex-wife of the VP of America. Kay was someone whom Alex almost kissed and someone Alex felt deeply for years before he met his new wife Bree Stone. Of course, someone has photos of Alex and Kay and trying to make it out that they had an affair.  During this time, the Cross family also suffers a tragedy as John Sampson's wife Billie passes away. The other thing I did love about this book was that we had not only John Sampson working with Alex Cross but also Ned Mahoney who was his partner in the FBI days. Deadly Cross felt a bit nostalgic for me as I have read all 28 books to date and the love and friendships that radiated from the page made me fall in love with this series again as the last had been a bit on the fence for me.
