Review: Intercepted - Book #1 Playbook Series - Alexa Martin - September 2018


For years Marlee Harper has stood by faithful next to her long-time boyfriend Chris and endured the nastiness of the Lady Mustangs which are made up mostly of the wives of the Football stars - the Denver Mustangs as Chris has still yet to propose and though she has been with him longer than some of these wives have been married as she doesn't have the ring, they look down on her. The other thing is that the president of the Lady Mustangs - Courtney hates Marlee and is always looking to get a dig at her. A newcomer has been signed onto the Denver Mustangs and is none other than Gavin Harper. Gavin is a blast from Marlee's past as there was one time four years ago, the pair had a one-night stand when Chris and Marlee were in their off moments. The book then jumps to Marlee discovering that Chris has been cheating on her and angry, Marlee leaves him. Gavin sees this as his chance to get the girl as he has never stopped thinking about Marlee and has been holding onto her necklace for the past four years. Marlee however has made herself a vow, never to fall for another football player. Can Gavin prove to Marlee that he loves her and isn't like Chris at all and that he wants the HEA and her forever or is Marlee ready to get rid of everything Mustang related in her life? Intercepted also introduces us to Brynn and her bar HERS as Marlee gets a job with her as the head of Marketing - as I previously had only read Book #3 - I was wondering how the bar HERS and Brynn were part of the story.   Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling. Fast forward to high school Misha is in a band and Ryen is out with her friends and they complete a scavenger hunt form. Ryen is not what Misha expected especially from her letters.
