Friends Forever was a quick chapter book read at only 36 pages and the perfect reader for girls aged 7-8 years old as it not only has a good number of words but also has a mixture of colored illustrations to keep their attention and not overwhelm the reader with too many words as these days, a lot of children prefer a good balance of illustrations and words when reading otherwise it can be seen as a daunting task.  This series would have been right up my alley when I was 6-7 years old as I love the idea of pen pals and writing and at the back of this book also includes some letter-writing paper to write to your pen pals. Our story is about two girls Addie and Reese who meet on a summer vacation at the Lake and became fast friends and spend all their time together. Summer is coming to an end and it means that they both have to leave and go back to their "real lives" and so they promise to write to each other and keep in touch which they do as the last few chapters are the girls writing to one another. This book brought back good childhood memories of mine as I had a handful of penpals some in New Zealand where I live and a few overseas from US etc.  If you have a daughter that you are wanting to get into reading, then check out the Pen Pal Gals series today by Julie Thiessen as you will not be disappointed.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers.
