Review: Going Down In Flames - Chris Cannon

Going Down in Flames (Going Down in Flames, #1)

Review: Going Down in Flames - Book #1 Going Down in Flames Series - Chris Cannon - June 2014

Bryn is about to get the wake up and discovery of a lifetime as her sixteenth birthday nears when a stranger turns up and hypnotises her and tells her that she comes from a family of shapeshifters and that she is actually a dragon and not just any dragon but a rare kind as for centuries and in their history books - dragons have been told that it is impossible to cross-bred from different clans and Bryn's Mum is a Blue Dragon and her father is a Red Dragon. Just before Bryn was born, they escaped the Dragon world and was banished and told never to return as they had broke the rules by marrying outside their bloodlines and clans as also Dragons are told who they are to marry. Now Bryn is sixteen and coming into her dragon powers, she is to attend the Dragon Training Academy and face the world her parents escaped from. As an abonimation , she is shunned by many dragons especially one in particular - a blue dragon Jaxon whose father Ferrin was promised to Bryn's mother Sara. Bryn finds friends with a couple of the Black Dragons and Allies with a few of the Greens. Though she will have to learn how to survive and who to trust and not to trust as someone wants Bryn dead and will go to lengths to make that happen. If learning to be a dragon was bad enough and being a Blue/Red has made her one of the rarest as she can do more than both clans combined - she must try and stay alive and find out who is trying to kill her. For a Teen Shapeshifter Dragon Story , I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more in the Going Down in Flames series as I want to see what happens with Bryn and Zavien as the book ended on a cliffhanger and whether she will get to see her parents again.
