Review: Twenty Eight and a Half Wishes - Denise Grover Swank

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mysteries, #1)

Review: Twenty Eight and a Half Wishes - Book #1 Rose Gardner Mystery Series - Denise Grover Swank - August 2012

Growing up Rose Gardner always had visions of what was going to happen in the future , unfortunately the gift wasn't as exciting as most and happened to be tiny things and seen as a nuisance even her mother would view her as possessed by the devil . Growing up Rose's partner in crime was her older sister Violet, but when Violet married - Rose was left to pick up her mother's slack but now at 28 1/2 she has had enough and wants to move on with her life. One day, she collapses at work after having a vision of herself dead , the next day she snaps at her mother and finally stands up for herself. What happens next though is when things start to get cray-cray as it's not Rose who dies but her mother and unfortunately Rose is the main suspect. How can Rose explain this when she had a vision of what was going to happen and even more so when she has a list of Twenty Eight and a Half things that she wants to do and a few of them are commiting the seven deadly sins and breaking the ten commandments which include killing someone. With the help of her new neighbour Joe , Rose will try and get to the bottom of things but what happens when she starts to fall for Joe and things about him aren't adding up and more people are dying around her ?
Will Rose be next and what is Joe hiding from her ?
If you love Cosy Mysteries with a touch of paranormal abilities such as visions , then Denise Grover Swank's series "Rose Gardner Mysteries" are the books for you.
The other thing that I loved about Rose is that she reminds me of the character Roe Teagarden from Charlaine Harris's Aurora Teagarden mystery series.
