Review: My Heart, His Soul - Heart and Soul Series - Loraine Lotter - 2010

Are you in the mood for a teenage love story ? One that involves a love triangle , a crazy dysfunctional family and jealousy ? Meet seventeen-year old Abi, she is like the black sheep of her family , so on her birthday she calls best friend Gabe to come and pick her up and take her away . As the story goes on we see that Gabe has strong feelings for Abi and Abi likes Gabe but she is not sure how much she actually loves him. The novel progresses and we meet newcomer Derrick , a guy that has seemed to catch Abi's eyes , is Derrick the one for Abi or Gabe and what will happen when Gabe starts to show a jealousy streak, will this push the independent Abi away ever further than she already is ? We see at the end of the novel, that Abi has made her choice, though the last few pages of  epilogue sees Gabe trapped in a prison of sorts - will he escape and Gabe be set free to live with Abi forever. Overall the novel was a good read, but I did find parts of the novel a tad confusing and some parts tended to drag a bit than nessecary. My Heart , His Soul is perfect read for any teens that have a thing for unrequited love and love triangles. I am personally interested to see what happens next as the story has left open the possibility of a sequel.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
