Review: Afraid of The Dark - James Grippando

Wanting an action packed thriller to read ?

Afraid of the Dark (Jack Swyteck)
Review: Afraid of the Dark - Jack Swyteck Novel - James Grippando - March 2011
Are you looking for a new mystery/ thriller author to read ? Next time, you are looking for an author try James Grippando as previously I hadn't read any of his books and after reading Afraid of the Dark, I really enjoyed his work.  Afraid of the Dark was a fast-paced novel and started off with what seemed like a in-between forbidden romance between McKenna and Jamal , with Chuck informing his best friend Vince to keep an eye on them two and to keep McKenna away from Jamal as he is bad news with a capital B. The first chapters act like a survelliance with Vince tapping McKenna's phone etc and then at the end of Chapter 2 we see McKenna being stabbed . The novel then jumps to 3 years later and in walks Jack Swyteck, he is questioning a young somalian guy for terriosm , what unfolds though is that the guy he is questioning happens to also be Jamal whose wanted for the murder of his friend Chuck's daughter McKenna. We soon read as Jamal was set up by the villian known as "The Dark" and soon what unravels is a huge conspiracy and affairs as to why McKenna was murdered and Jamal framed and we get a shock as Mckenna's mum Shada knows alot more than she is letting on to what happened that dreadful night three years ago, the same night that Vince ended up blinded.
Afraid of the Dark is a fast paced thriller, that all will enjoy and is along the lines of John Sandford, Iris Johansen, Lisa Scottoline and Ken Bruen.
