Wellness on a Shoestring: Seven Habits for a Healthy Life
Review: Wellness on a Shoestring: Seven Habits for a Healthy Life - Michelle Robin - May 2010

Have you ever noticed that most self-help books or any books for that matter , use the number seven as a healthy, positive number -its like people think of the number seven as being a lucky number or a spiritual number . I have to admit though , that if anyone was to ask me A) my favourite number and B) my lucky number - I would choose number #7 as I was born on the 07.07.1987 ( three sevens).
Michelle Robin's Book "Wellness on A Shoestring" presents us with 7 habits that will help us to gain that Healthy life that we all - even if you don't want to admit it - aim for. Whether it be losing weight, getting more excercise etc.
The seven habits in Michelle's book includes:
  1. Rest , Rejuvenate and Relax - These are the 3R's we should all be learning , once you finish school and have mastered the 3R's of learning . It's amazing how many people find it very difficult to rest, relax and rejuvenate themselves as they find in their everyday lives busy as bees with work, family , friends and study.
  2. Breathe deeply - Inhale, Exhale, Inhale, Exhale . Again this is one of the most important things that we need to do and not just in the literal way of breathing everyday as thats what humans do anyway, but take time out to breathe deeply properly.
  3. Move Your body - from left to right, now up and down . Moving your body will get your blood pumping and circulation circulating around your body and as they say keeping fit keeps you healthy.
  4. Free Your Space - they say that clutter around your physical body can affect your mental and emotional state , so not only free the corners of your mind from all that brain clutter and useless knowledge you have stored up, but also do a spring-clean and clean your room, get rid of rubbish, old clothes you don't wear anymore.
  5. Go for the Greens - As your parents used to always say or at least mine did - make sure you eat all your veges otherwise you get no desert - Eating your veges are a healthy choice and as the nutritions say eat 5+ a day.
  6. Eat from the Sea and Enjoy the Sun - Sounds simple right and we all love the nice warm sun, just make sure that you slip, slop, slap and wrap.
  7. Last but not least, Drink to your Health- though they are not talking about Alcohol and going out and getting drunk , drink lots and lots of water - the fluid keeps your skin, body healthy, though apparently if you drink one glass of red wine a night, that too is supposed to reduce heart problems.
So readers , grab "Wellness on a Shoestring" the only book that you will need to get you healthy and save pennies at the same time, though of course those pennies you saved , can go towards a new wardrobe for when you lose that weight youv'e been aiming to get rid off.
