Review: Plan B - Charnan Simon

The Issue of Teenage Pregnancy is such a big topic that is happening more and more than it had in the past, talking with my sister the other day we were discussing her friend whose 21 and has 3 children already and is pregnant with another and alot of the people I use to hang around with at school and know those who are my age and younger all are saddled with kids. Though being saddled with kids isn't a bad thing if done properly as I can't wait till I become a mother at the right time, but unfortunately as we are about to discover some of us don't have the opportunity to wait for what may seem like the right time.

Plan B (Surviving Southside)

Review: Plan B - Charman Simon - Surviving Southside Series - March 2011

All Lucy wanted to do was study hard and get into a good college and succeed and make her mother proud of her as she had spent her whole life watching her mother struggle due to becoming pregnant at seventeen with Lucy and Lucy's father taking off as he couldn't handle the pressure of being a family man.
Lucy is now seventeen and in her final year of high school, she gets top grades and a scholarship to a good college is looking more and more like a happening thing, her mother has finally decided to go to night school and study as a medical dictation officer and Lucy has great friends and a hot boyfriend who loves her Luke.
Luke is the school's champion baseball player and has had a scout from the University of Austin visit him on numerous accounts and it seems if he continues to play well , he very may just receive a scholarship for Baseball purposes to the University of Austin.
Both Luke and Lucy have full lives ahead of them, with big career and future goals , so when Luke and Lucy decide to take their relationship to the next level we see trouble lays ahead as Lucy ends up pregnant . We read as now both their lives are at stake, will Luke stand up and take the plate and responsibility as being the dad or will he run off to college and leave Lucy alone ?
Will Lucy take the Plan B options off abortion or adoption or will she discover that when it comes down to becoming a mother and having the baby , nothing else matters except that child ?
Find out in this awesome book "Plan B" part of the Surviving Southside Series - the series reminded me quite strongly of Melody Carlson's series True Colours.

  1. Well sounds like a good read. I agree that teen pregnancy is a very important issue. My first year of teaching, my brightest student was pregnant with her second child at the age of 15. Why?!
