Life Promises for Success: Promises from God on Achieving Your Best

Review: Life Promises for Success - Jim Tressel - February 2011

I'm not sure about you , but I know that I am one of those girls who love reading quotes books and poems , anything that I can write down and keep as a guide to inspiration. I even have a purple corkboard type photo pinboard that I attach quotes etc , things I find inspiring too . At the moment it has a Cover of NZ Leaders Monthly which Open Polytechnic did for their students to inspire a higher achievement at your own work levels that reads "Miss Paula Phillips -Person of the Year" . Imagine what it would really feel like to have that next to your name. You would feel pretty amazing and worth alot. With Life Promises for Success , Jim Tressel has written a selection of quotes, poems , bible verses - you name it , it's in here - everything that God has promised us on how to achieve to our full potential.
The Book is split into three parts : The Essence of Success which discusses what Success actually is , how do we define success - is it just passing through or is it getting the top marks , is success measured by how smart you are or how you aim to be a B+ Student ? .
The second part is titled "The Elements of success" and covers topics from Persistence to Integrity to Humility and finally The Epitome of Success - what you come out feeling when you have been a right success.

Excerpt :

The Man Who Thinks He Can

If you think you’re beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind. . . .
Think big, and your deeds will grow;
Think small and you’ll fall behind.
Think that you can, and you will;
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.
It’s all in the state of mind!
