Live Wire

Review: Live Wire- Myron Bolitar Series - March 2011

In what is to be the last of the Myron Bolitar series but not the last we have heard of him , be prepared for a huge amount of twists and turns. The story starts off with a simple case of a Facebook posting turned wrong where his client's wife and friend Suzee T is pregnant and somebody has posted that the baby is not the husband Lex's but instead , the singer Gabriel Wire's - Lex's best friend. When Myron goes to retrieve Lex, he will get the shock of his life as who does he see in the club - his Sister-in-law Kitty Bolitar whom was married to his brother Brad , Myron has not seen or heard from Kitty and Brad in fifteen years. Soon it will evolve that somehow Kitty is involved with the facebook posting and will send Win and Myron along with the help of good friends and collegues Esperanza and Big Cindy into a web of lies , one that has been getting more and more tangled for over a decade. As I mentioned there is alot of twists and turns that even the readers won't be expecting, so not to spoil the story and the plot- I leave you with this , Enjoy as Harlan Coben as finished the Myron Bolitar series superbly and Im sad to see it end, however we discover that Myron has a fifteen year old Nephew Myron aka Mickey whom will be starring in his own novel "Shelter", This will be Harlan Coben's first novel aimed at the Young Adults audience. The perfect book for fans of Lee Child and James Patterson , I advise though if you have not read any of Harlan Coben's earlier Myron Bolitar books - then read the earlier stuff first and leave Live Wire till last , otherwise it won't give off the same feeling.

  1. This story involves a rock and roll duo, one of whom is Myron's client and the other of whom is a recluse who hides out at his permanent offshore Massachusetts' island estate. Something is going on with this duo and Myron needs to find out what as his brother's family is caught up in it plus his tennis star client Suzze is married to one of the duo. Things started going wrong for this duo sixteen years ago when a high schooler killed herself by jumping out of a window after having sex with the lead singer. The duo still release records but they are all recorded at the island retreat. They stopped touring at the time of the suicide. The lead singer never appears in public. All they do is release records--enormously popular records. Naturally Myron and Win want to meet this recluse so as to find out why people involved with this duo are dying and/or are under fire.
