Are you a fan of the mythological creature - the mermaid ?

The Mermaid's Mirror

Review:  The Mermaid's Mirror - L.K Madigan - October 2010

Selena aka Lena has always loved the Water , and now as she is approaching her sixteenth birthday, strange things are happening. It starts out as a case of sleepwalking and waking up in her bed, with the sand between her toes. Selena as long as she can remember has always loved the water and feels that she belongs to it . When she goes to her dad's office on the 27th floor, she starts to feel dizzy. Is this a new case of Vertigo or is the fear of heights being brought on from something deeper - a case of being too far from the water. All Lena has ever wanted to do is surf, so when she goes behind her fathers back -she finds out she is a natural. However, what she didn't expect is that by her surfing -she would open up a pandora's box of secrets especially ones surrounding the death of her mother Lucy. As the novel goes on we discover that Selena is actually half-mermaid and that her mother was a mermaid with a magical cloak that kept her human. Now back in Selena's life - Selena must make the ultimate choice , to live her life as a mermaid or as a human. Will she choose to live with her mother in the ocean where she belongs or live on land with her father, stepmother and little Brother Corey?
Find out In "The Mermaids Mirror" by LK Madigan. I personally found this book to be similar to Kathryn Lasky's series Daughters of the Sea and Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters Chronicles.
