Review: The Best American Mystery Stories 2010 - Edited Lee Child

Are you a fan of the Mystery Genre ? Love American Mysteries over the English ? Which unfortunately in not all cases but more often than not, I find myself favouring the Americans as some English mystery writers that I have struck go on and on and on and are very detail-orientated and Im like wheres the blood, guts and gore. I need action people.

The Best American Mystery Stories 2010 (The Best American Series (R))

Review: The Best American Mystery Stories 2010 - Guest Edited by Lee Child - October 2010

Every year the Americans tend to put out in every field imagined the Best of that particular subject in that particular year , you think of a genre from Essays - Short Stories - Mysteries etc. It is known to be viewed as an amazing honour to be featured. I always wonder though who they choose and how they choose as more often than not , the only writer I have heard of is the one guest editing. Being a huge American Mystery reader , I found these stories to be well-written , fast paced and an excellent read . However if you are one of those people that short stories tend to annoy you, this is a collection of Short Story Mysteries, though I did enjoy it as many of them did not leave you with that awful cliff-hanging feeling that some books do.
A couple of the authors I was familiar with included Kurt Vonnegut and Philip Margolin , Dennis Lehane - who for those who have seen the movie Shutter Island, this is the author behind the book that inspired the film .
The anthology can be a quick read as it only has twenty authors listed, where if you are familiar with Thriller #1 edited James Patterson and Thriller #2 Edited by Clive Cussler they have plenty of different authors included.
However in saying all that , if you are a fan of the Mystery genre and the Americans get you tingling with excitement and anticipation , then this is one book to add to your TBR Pile.
