Review: Presumed Dead - Shirley Wells - July 2010
Wanting a thrilling mystery with lots of twists and turns ? Authoress Shirley Wells brings us Presumed Dead which I have to say I was drawn to by the cover after answering the question earlier on about whether we judge books by the cover as the red dress against the grey background stands out and it made me want to find out more and after reading that it was a mystery made it even better as I tend to go for four things when looking for a book : Author , Cover, Blurb and Genre and it goes in that order as well.
Presumed Dead takes us into the life of now-turned PI and ex-cop Dylan Scott, coming up to Christmas , he finds himself separated from his wife Bev, a small two-bedroom flat with his mother of all people and out of work. When he recieves a phone call to come to Dawson's Clough- seeing this reminded me of the TV Show "Dawson's Creek" to help Holly Champion find her mother who has been missing for thirteen years. What starts as a little asking around and investigating turns into a full-blown scale and murder case as it seems Anita wasn't that popular and a lot of the stories from that night aren't matching up.
Can Dylan find out the truth for Holly and help her find closure and will this job be the beginning of something new for Dylan and a way to change his life back around for the better ?
Find out in "Presumed Dead" by Shirley Wells.
Thanks so much for this review. Delighted to hear you enjoyed Dylan's story!
