Review: Finding Mr Darcy - Erin Butler - September 2014

Meet Eliza Bennett , she is obsessed with the Austen Life from the books especially Pride and Prejudice to the customs and rules from Austen's time to the romance and the love. In the past Eliza aka Liza has been the best friend of Janie Lucas who gets all the guys she wants, but this year it seems that it is finally Eliza's year to be the center of attention but will being the center of attention cause her to become a different person or will she keep her Austen personality and realise that being herself is all that matters and the right one isn't always her version of Mr. Darcy ?  During this novel , Eliza has her pick of three guys - there is newcomer Will who is the version of Mr. Darcy and is the perfect guy that she should be falling for.  Then there is Ryan Wick who is her best friend Janie's ex-boyfriend and someone who seems to go through girlfriends like socks. His character reminded me a bit of Mr. Wickham and Janie in a way reminded me of a Lydia character as she has on the side an internet chat-room relationship with a guy named Jimmy and right through the book , all I can keep thinking is that he is a creepy old dude and not what he says. The third guy is Ben - when Eliza wins a trip to England and visit the home of Everything Austen - she meets Ben a tour guide and has a holiday fling with him. Though when it comes to the crunch , Eliza starts to wonder if there really is a Mr. Darcy out there for any of us and whether he does really exist ? 
Finding Mr. Darcy is the perfect read for anyone who loves Austen Renditions and what I loved about this book was that it didn't just focus on Pride and Prejudice but a mixture of all of Jane Austen's books.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments. The other thing I love about The Winston Brothers is they are all genuinely nice guys ; they may look like they had a bad bone and they have reasons too - but they are the nicest around there, and they have the best intentions.
