Review: Vengeful Sins - Book#2 Wicked Falls Elite Series - C. Hallman - December 2024 We saw at the end of Book #1 that Wren and Briggs got together as Wren moved in with him and Briggs's dad went on the run after trying to kill Wren. Now for Book #2, we have Wren's friend Maya and Briggs's mate Tucker. These two have had a strong love/hate relationship and we are about to discover why as years ago when Maya was sixteen she heard her Dad trying to sell her off. So she went out and got drunk and slept with Tucker. After some nasty words, the pair went their separate ways, but for Tucker -Maya is the girl that broke his heart as he had liked her and since then the hurt turned into hardened hatred. Now though as Maya turns 18, her father is more than determined to sell her to the highest bidder which in this case is Chase, and this time not for sex but for marriage. Can Tucker save the woman he loves to hate? Maya though has another dark secret, one that keeps her from showing...

Review: Dance For Me - Helena Newbury

Review: Dance For Me - Book #1 Fenbrook Academy Series - Helena Newbury - June 2013 After having a couple of DNF's and nothing capturing me, I decided to browse through my kindle and read an older book. Dance for Me jumped out at me with the word Academy and I figured I would enjoy it as I loved school-based novels. Fenbrook Academy is a school for the arts and our main character Natasha is a ballet dancer at the school. She is trying to make it big by going to auditions when she meets our male lead. Darrell is an engineer who dropped out of MIT but his mind makes him a genius at what he does as he builds for the government. Darrell is stuck and needs a new muse when he gets a block - he searches through ballet videos as the fluid of the dancers calm him and boosts his inspiration. On this particular day, the videos aren't working so he goes in search of the real thing and on this day crashes into a ballet audition that Natasha is doing and distracts her, making...

VBT# The Teddy Bear Eye Club - Suzanne M.Hurley

Review: The Teddy Bear Eye Club - Suzanne M Hurley - June 2015 Have you seen the TV show "The Red Band Society" ? That is exactly what The Teddy Bear Eye club reminded me of as we have a group of outsiders, misfits that don't seem to fit with anybody any particular except funnily enough with each other and each of them has something that they are going through in life and they feel that they don't have anyone they can talk to or hang out with. Pre-warning readers, though this book is a tween book , it was a sad and an emotional read and I don't normally cry in books but The Teddy Bear Eye Club in parts left me with tear tracks down my face. We have Mayah who is one of the main characters whom is depressed and finds out she is adopted, she feels though that her parents have lied to her and is really struggling with coming to terms with her adoption and past and has thoughts about whether she can ever move on from what she has just discovered. Celeste...

Review: Kiss of Broken Glass - Madeline Kuderick

Review: Kiss of Broken Glass - Madeline Kuderick - September 2014 Are you in the mood for some edgy teen reading ? This novel is written in the same format as Ellen Hopkins and Sonya Sones with the writing style being verses rather than your average book written format. It tells the story of Kenna who over the next 72 hours will experience life in the psych ward as she is caught cutting herself in the girls bathroom at school with the blade from her pencil sharpener . Cutting is one of those issues that has been around for a while and is one of the most popular ways of self-harming, the thought of cutting has even crossed my mind but then I see myself as a wimp for pain and for me - fingernails actually does the trick and it doesn't hurt as much psychologically as I believe cutting would. In this book though, it reminded me of an episode of Criminal Minds that I watched where Kids were hanging themselves and resuscitating themselves back alive for fun. At Kenna...
