Review: Sister, Sister - S.E Green - August 2023 One of my favourite authors is S.E Green, I love both her books under SE Green and Shannon Greenland. Whenever I see a new one, it is always a must-read. Sister, Sister introduces us to sisters Lily and Kinsley Day. Lily is the oldest and is a best-selling author whilst Kinsley is in her shadow as the assistant. The two sisters lost their parents at a young age and lived through foster care. As they got older, Lily always liked to be the best and Kinsley in her shadow. Kinsley was destined to be an amazing author, yet it was Lily who wanted it to be her dream and when Lily wasn't able to make it a reality, then Kinsley stepped up and wrote for Lily. When Kinsley started dating Asher, she fell hard for him but then of course Lily wanted him and sadly what Lily wants, she gets. Kinsley has always been there for Lily but now is Kinsley happy still being in the shadows or is Lily ready to break free from Kinsley and become her person? A...

Review: Mother May I ? - S.E Green - May 2021 As readers, we always have a list of authors that as soon as they release a new book, we will always read them - no matter what. They are called our "unicorn authors". These are the authors that you will buy a book just because it is written by them, you often have no idea what the book is about because it isn't a priority to you. The main thing is that it was written by that specific author. One of my "unicorn authors" is S.E Green aka Shannon Greenland. When I was younger about 16-18, I discovered her YA Spy series The Specialists and Killer Instinct and I read both and was hooked. Mother May I? is a tad different than her others as this one is written more for the adult audience rather than her usual YA target. In Mother May I? we meet Nora who is a preacher's wife which was surprising as she isn't the religious type at all. She is a money-hungry cheater. As long as her preacher husband is making money, ...

Review: Monster - S.E Green - Aprl 2019 Readers will know that one of the authors that I follow and ensure that I read all she releases is Shannon Greenland or when she writes the edgier novels as S.E Green. Monster starts off with two twins who are out playing by the train tracks when they are kidnapped and then held hostage for a year. During this time the girls are subjected to torture including cannibalism as organs are cut out and then feed to each other. Caroline managed to escape but Annabel wasn't strong enough and died. Now thirteen years later,  there is a new case that involves cannibalism and is similar to the one she experienced and now all her old memories are flooding back including ones that she had repressed. What will happen though when she discovers that all she has experienced is not what it seems and that her kidnappers have been closer to her than she ever expected? Will this revelation break Caroline as they want once and for all or will ...

Review: Killer Within - Book #2 Killer Instinct Series - S.E Green - May 2015 I have had this book sitting on my kindle for a while as I fell in love with the first book as it's like Dexter for the teen audience and with a female lead. At the end of the first book, we read as Lane killed the serial killer known as the Decapitator aka her mum. Of course, the rest of the world, think that her mum - the FBI agent was the last victim. Since that night, Lane has felt like she is losing her touch as she hasn't been able to kill anyone as when she gets close, she panics and freezes. The love of killing has disappeared. She is about to see that her identity as the Masked Saviour isn't going to die down anytime soon as she has a copycat and now a fan site dedicated to her killings. Can Lane find out who is her copycat without giving her true identity away and we also discover that her Mum was hiding a few secrets of her own including a possible family relati...
