I curled up with Five Liars by DL Fisher over the Christmas break, expecting a cozy thriller to keep me company between leftover turkey sandwiches and New Year's champagne. What I got was a dark, twisty ride that had me second-guessing everyone even if the destination wasn't quite what I hoped for. The setup is absolutely my jam: Britt and Joe are off to celebrate their upcoming nuptials with three of their closest friends at what should be an idyllic venue. Instead, everything goes sideways from the moment they arrive. Missing luggage? Check. No food? Check. An incoming storm that strands them completely? Oh yes. And lurking beneath the surface chaos, each guest harbors a secret dark enough to destroy them : a fraud, a cheater, a fake, an imposter, and most chillingly, a murderer.
