Review: The Good Egg - Book #3 Lumberjanes Chapter Books - Mariko Tamaki/Brooklyn Allen - October 2018 It's time for Lumberjanes as I bring you the last chapter book in the Lumberjanes series, I did find it nice reading a chapter book for a change about their adventures rather than a graphic novel as the favorite thing about the books is that throughout the book it gives you a detailed list of some of the awesome badges that were mentioned in the story. In The Good Egg, Ripley is feeling a little lost without their friend Castor and the team spirit of the Lumberjanes is lacking morale. They need another challenge, something exciting. Therefore Rosie has invited on a former theatrical Lumberjane, and the cabins are being mixed up and have to perform a fairytale, but they also have to change the story up a bit. None of this boring original crap. While this is happening Ripley on one of her journeys found a nest of golden eggs and she nicknamed the baby egg Eg...

Review: The Moon is Up - Book #2 Lumberjanes Series - Mariko Tamaki and Brooklyn Allen - May 2018 As readers of The Phantom Paragrapher will know, I am a big Lumberjane fan so when I saw that they had also released chapter books. I knew I had to read them. In The Moon is Up, the cabins are preparing for their annual Galaxy Wars. Each cabin has to find the nine planets with the clues that their fearless cabin leader Jen has come up with . It's a race against the clock as Zodiac and Roanoke are tied throughout the game. However, it's not a Lumberjanes novel without a bit of mischief and mayhem as someone is stealing the cheese from their camp. The Lumberjanes will discover it's a little mouse who isn't just any mouse, he is the son of an evil Mouse Pirate who has been tasked to stealing all the cheese that the camp has to offer for his mother and her crew. Of course, the mouse falls for the friendship that the Lumberjanes have as they welcome h...

They are a group of girl scouts who besides trying every day to get their badges - they also find themselves on strange treks and in weird situations. Recently the library I work at got three books of Lumberjanes in chapter book format. I immediately grabbed all three to take home and read as I was in dire need of a Lumberjane fix. In Unicorn Power, it starts with the girls trying to get their Flora and Fauna badge, and while searching in the forest, they stumble across a Unicorn eating a plant called a Clowbell . BTW we are informed in this book that Unicorns smell like rotten eggs and blue cheese. The Lumberjanes follow the unicorn to a paddock and stumble upon a strange mountain. They return to camp, and that night April gets an idea for the girls to get a Unique badge to do with exploring. This leads the...
