Review: Forever Layla - Melissa Turner Lee

Review: Forever Layla - Melissa Turner Lee - May 2014 Clearing my kindle of its older titles as currently participating in a YearAThon ReadAThon on Instagram and one of the prompts is clearing your TBR pile and with a massive kindle library, I am aiming this year to get rid of some of my older books. I wasn't sure what this book was about as I have had it since 2014 and now, we are in 2022.  Forever Layla was an interesting read as it was more than a romance if you had to choose two books to describe this - I would say Forever Layla is The Notebook meets The Time Travellers Wife. The year is early 1994 and Kurt Cobain is still alive and David is 17- 18 next week and working on the soundboard for a garage band. Normally girls come for the band members, not geeky him. This girl here is for David though. For years the girl who we later meet in the book has grown up hearing stories about him and the woman Layla who he fell for and their eternal love story. You see this girl is from t...

Guest Post : Zombies as a Love Interest - Nora Fleischer

I bring to you today a Guest Post from the author of Zombies in Love. I reviewed Zombies in Love back in Early November 2014 on The Phantom Paragrapher and loved it. I contacted the author to see if she would write a guest post on what made her choose Zombies as the love interest over the more common hottie status Supernaturals like Vampires, Werewolves or Shifters and Today reader's we have her answer :    I've had many people wonder why I decided to write a paranormal romance with a zombie as the male lead.  I really like romances in which the conflict is internal, rather than external-- the hero feels like he doesn't deserve love, and is slowly but surely proved wrong.  The great thing about paranormal romance is that you can make this metaphor concrete.  The hero can say, "I'm a monster," and be totally right.               But why zombies?...

Guest Post : How to Sell at a Convention

How to sell at a convention By: Elizabeth J. Kolodziej Conventions are a funny beast. You are in a room surrounded by either hundreds or sometimes thousands of people. To your left and right you see a table filled with people you are competing with. Not to say that it is a race to see who can finish first, but... You’re contending for the attention of the next person that walks by your path. What I believe to be the first and most common mistake of a sales person, (and yes, you are a sales person at this moment), is that the person stays behind the table. Imagine being behind the table and reaching outward to shake hands with the stranger coming towards you. It’s difficult. More than that, you have a chance of knocking over all your products. (Book being the product you are selling).             What you want to do first is get out from behind that confining cage called a table and meet and greet the peo...
