Review: When We Were Young - Book #4 The Baxter Family Series - Karen Kingsbury - October 2018 Getting back into reading Christian fiction, I find that one of the most inspirational and powerful authors is Karen Kingsbury. I find especially her Baxter family books that they tend to be able to get into those dark crevices of your heart and touch you in a way you never expected. Each book is powerful and shows that with God's love anything is possible and miracles never cease to amaze during this series. When We Were Young has a strong focus on a topic that is so vital in today's world - Social Media. Everyone is putting their lives online for fans, money. Influencer status can earn people up to six figures, just by sharing their daily lives constantly with the world. Free products can be earned, just by showing them on your feeds. For Noah and Emily Carter, they built their lives on Social media and created a brand called When We Were Young about their lov...

Review: To the Moon and Back - Book #3 The Baxter Family Series - Karen Kingsbury - May 2018 As I journey back into reading more Christian fiction, one of the authors I am currently making my way through as I had previously read the majority of her works and now catching up on the later books she wrote is Karen Kingsbury. One thing that I find with Karen Kingsbury's stories are is they all pack a punch and focus on an issue that is powerful, heartfelt, and inspiring. In To The Moon and Back, the story starts with the introduction of a character named Brady whom when he was five years old, his mother and he were involved in the Oklahoma City bombing. Brady survived but his mother who saved him passed away. When Brady was seventeen, he met another survivor Jenna who lost both her parents to the blast and they connected. The book then jumps forward eleven years later and the anniversary has come around again. Each year Brady writes a letter and hopes to reconnect w...

Review: In this Moment - Book #2 The Baxter Family - Karen Kingsbury - November 2017 After having a long hiatus of not reading Christian fiction, I have felt the call to go back and read it and get back into the genre. Karen Kingsbury was always an author I loved and I felt the need to read her later Baxter family books which had been published after I took a break. Like all her books, each one is powerful and very inspiring. In This Moment we meet one of the Baxter Sons - Luke and his family including his wife Reagan and children. We also meet High School Principal Wendell Quinn. These two will cross paths when Wendell finds himself being sued and Luke as his lawyer. Wendell is a Black High School Principal in a low-income area and is trying to get his school roll up and the students out of trouble. He has exhausted all his options and prayed to God. His last choice is to open a voluntary bible study - he hopes that making it voluntary means that he is within the law...

Review: Love Story - Book #1 The Baxter Family - Karen Kingsbury - June 2017 Before July 2010, I read a lot of Christian Fiction and I had made my way through quite a few of Karen Kingsbury's books especially in the Baxter Series. The few years after that I still read the odd Christian fiction until one day it dropped off as I discovered new authors etc. My genres and reading taste changed. Recently though, I have found myself wanting to reconnect with God and have started to get back into reading Christian Fiction. I ordered a bunch of Karen Kingsbury's latest which I hadn't read.  One was Love Story which I had been looking forward to reading. Love Story is what brings the Baxter Family together and makes them who they are today. This is the epic love story of John Baxter and his first wife Elizabeth whom we know from earlier books that she passed away from Cancer and John himself remarried Elaine. The book starts due to one of their grandchildren Cole...
