Review: Passage - Caroline Overington - October 2012 I was in a bit of a slump and knew I wanted to read something but I couldn't decide what I was in the mood for, so I picked up a quick read from Australian author Caroline Overington as I knew I would enjoy this one and again it would be a fast read. The book starts with us being introduced to Paul Bannerman who is the newly elected Deputy for the State of Victoria when a news release comes out about his past and his short time in the cult of the Jesus People run by Brother Ruhamah. As a young man, Paul didn't know what he wanted to do with his life and was just on a track of wandering. That was until one day at college, 17-year-old Paul met Brother Ruhamah at the college campus and he captured Paul's attention. Review: Throne of Glass - Book #1 Throne of Glass Series - Sarah J. Maas - August 2012 2024, is the year I plan to conquer Sarah J. Maas and all her books. Throne of Glass is Book #4 in her reading order as the first three books were the first three titles in her ACOTAR series. For me this particular book, I tried to read back in September 2013 and I could not get into it and at the time rated it 2 stars which was a DNF. Fast forward 14 years and it gets a borderline 4Ps for me as I think due to being invested this time around in her books, I felt more determined to read it and enjoy it as nobody wants to sit there and read a book that they are finding boring and hating. For me, the hardest thing I felt was the fact that I had to work extra hard in separating my universes and characters as I was so used to Feyre, Rhysand, and Tamlin - the world of Fae. Review: Frozen - Book #1 Detective Ellie MacIntosh Series - December 2012 Being on holiday and it has been warm at night, I decided last night to head to bed about 8.45-9 pm with my book and clicked on Frozen by Kate Watterson, this book has been sitting on my Kindle since June 2013. I had read a couple of Kate's mysteries and enjoyed them. I also really liked the covers of this series as they follow the same style but use the elements where the book is set for the covers. This was one of those rare times too that I actually stayed past midnight reading as finished the book at about 12.05 am - the good thing about being on holiday is the next morning, you can sleep in.     Review: The First Lie - Book # 0.5 The Lying Game Series - Sara Shepard - December 2012 You know how you have those days where you want to read but nothing grabs you, and you try and try again and everything is blah. That's how I feel sometimes with my books. In those moments, you should have an author or books on your Kindle that you know that no matter what they will work wonders for you and hit the spot.  Sara Shepard is one of those authors for me and then as it was also getting later at night, a novella was perfect.
