Review: Books and Bad Dates - Book #1 The Weaversbrook Series - Carmen Whitmore - March 2025 If you’re anything like me, sometimes you just need a cutesy, feel-good romance to scratch that reading itch and that’s exactly how I stumbled across Books and Bad Dates by Carmen Whitmore. Sitting on my shelf as a lovely birthday gift from Bookstagram , it practically called my name with that hot pink cover and honestly, I’m so glad I listened. Books and Bad Dates introduces us to Daisy, a small-town librarian who is as lovable as she is relatable. Like many of us, Daisy has endured her fair share of awkward, cringe-worthy, and downright terrible dates. But instead of letting those experiences fade into embarrassment, she’s done something rather magical with them ,she’s rewritten them. Under the secret pen name Rose Winters , Daisy transforms her dating disasters into swoon-worthy romance stories, giving herself the happy endings she never quite got in real life. Isn’t that just the dream?...

Review: In Case You Didn't Know - Book #2 The Fitzgeralds - Carrie Elks - October 2025 I'll be honest with you lately, I've been in a bit of a romance reading slump. Book after book has failed to pull me out of my funk, leaving me scrolling aimlessly through my TBR pile with zero enthusiasm. So when Hambright PR reached out about In Case You Didn't Know by Carrie Elks, I wasn't expecting much. But here's the thing: this book grabbed my attention from page one and didn't let go. The premise hooked me immediately. Our heroine writes steamy romance novels under a pen name, keeping her career secret from almost everyone including her best friend's older brother, Asher Fitzgerald. When they unexpectedly cross paths at an exclusive sex club,  he suddenly sees her in an entirely different light. What follows is a deliciously forbidden romance filled with tension, heat, and the kind of secrecy that makes every stolen moment feel dangerous. What I loved most ab...

Review: Last - Garnet Christie

Review: Last - Book #1 Copperslane Series - Garnet Christie - May 2021 Recently I posted a little bit about how going into books without expectations can turn out to be the best thing as sometimes the least expected books can turn out to be amazing diamonds in the rough or this case - the treasure in the world of books. This is how I felt with Last by Garnet Christie. This last month, I have struggled with reading, and just under half of everything I tried turned out to be a DNF. For me, that ratio was sad :(. However, back to Last by Garnet Christie, this book was a great read and I felt myself by the end of the book wanting a Brett Walker in my life too. I even really liked the main character Bianca though she did annoy me a little towards the end of the story she redeemed herself after a brief future ghost before the Christmas moment. In Last, the book starts with Bianca who is a writer but currently going through writers' block. She is at her friend's party and catches Mo...
