Review: Zero Days - Ruth Ware - June 2023 For me personally, when it comes to Ruth Ware's books - she is a hit/miss author. Before reading this book, I had tried six of her titles three I enjoyed and three were DNFS. This now puts her hits in the lead and the funny thing is with the books I have enjoyed, they have been really good reads. This one first grabbed me with the blurb as it talked not only about Agatha Christie and the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is one of my favourite films with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.     Review: She Can Run - Book #1 She Can Series - Melinda Leigh - November 2011 This particular author I enjoyed and if you love authors like Kendra Elliott and Kate Watterson and Melinda Woodhall, then you will enjoy her crime reads. On the other hand, this particular series has been a hit/miss for me as I find I either enjoy them or they have been DNFs. She Can Run was up my alley with the main character leaving her husband in the middle of the night with her children after he tried to kill her in a fit of rage. Beth now has accepted a job as a caretaker, but when she turns up and learns that her new prospective employer is dead and his nephew Jake has taken over the property. Feeling sorry and knowing Beth is hiding from something and the fact that his Uncle Danny had good instincts, he hires her and she starts to care for the horses. Review: This Golden State - Marit Weisenberg - March 2022 As a reader, I love going into books blind as the stories end up impressing me and I often find myself enjoying them more and that is what happened with This Golden State as I originally must have read what the book was about with the blurb but had forgotten, so went in not knowing what to expect and then loved the way the story played out as new identities are a favorite trope of mine.
