Review: Final Girls - Riley Sager - July 2017 Have you ever picked up a book and the first time you tried it, you hated it and couldn't finish it and it ended up being a DNF? That has happened to me a few times as I am a mood reader and have to be in the right frame of mind to read and enjoy the book otherwise it is a no-go for me and that book has no hope to capture my attention. Final Girls by Riley Sager was one of those books as I first tried to read it in 2017 when it was first released but it didn't hold my attention and I marked it as a DNF. Review: Tastes Like Candy - Ivy Tholen - October 2020 This book grabbed me from the cover, I am so obsessed with this candy floss skull and it does end up representing one of the deaths in the book. Tastes Like Candy is definitely what I would classify as a 90's slasher film novel - like Scream, Valentine, or even I know What You Did Last Summer. All those 90s / early 2000s scare fest films we loved as tweens/teens. The book starts with a group of friends who are about to participate in their last event as Seniors. The annual senior year scavenger hunt is made of the best students in the school. Each year students are chosen to represent the previous year's entrants. Violet and her friends are in for an amazing adventure as this year the hunt is set in a carnival.
