Review: Local Woman Missing - Mary Kubica - May 2021 One of my favorite little benefits of being a reviewer and running a book blog is that we get to read a few books before they are released to the public. Lately, I had been in a bit of a reading slump and none of my romances on my kindle/iPad were grabbing me so I moved to a mystery as that always gets my attention. Local Woman Missing had several storylines running through the book and took me a little while to get into and fully understand what was happening and how it was all connected. The first woman missing is new mother Shelby Tebow who disappears while running and then a local midwife is found murdered and her 6-year-old daughter remains missing. Now eleven years later, a young girl has managed to escape her abductors and she says her name is Delilah. The thing is though that she went missing around the same time, some things don't add up and soon it leaves her family wondering if this is Delilah and if not what happened ...

Review: Girl on The Ferris Wheel - Julie Halpern and Len Vlahos - January 2021 I have to say this book did grab my attention at first as I thought the plot sounded like a good YA novel and I do love carnivals. Inside the pages were a different story as we meet two characters who are complete opposites except for the fact that they both love film. We have Dmitri who is a drummer in a band and is outgoing and then when have Eliana who is quiet and studious and only has one friend Janine whom we learn is like an Amazonian Goddess. Dmitri's family is Greek which I loved as Greek families always present a closeness in books and Eliana's dad is a stay-at-home dad after his video/DVD shop went out of business and now he spends most of his time down in the basement watching movies. I did struggle a bit with this book as I hated the character of Eliana as she had so much self-doubt in herself and it got to a point where it became too much as she couldn't imagine someone like Dmitr...

Review: Girl , Eight - Book #2 Mercy Harbor Series - Melinda Woodhall - March 2019 Eden is back along with Leo Steele and the pair have been spending a lot of time together since solving a murder and saving Eden's niece Hope. Now with the running of her newest center "Hope Centre" caring for addicts wanting to get clean as though Eden couldn't save the Stacey's, Jessica's, or Brandi's of the world - she can at least try and save others wanting to get clean like Kara. The book then jumps to Ace who has killed and buried seven girls so far and looking for an Eighth girl which is where Kara comes in. Working at the center is Doctor Bellows aka Doc and he gets the girls for Ace. He has been getting away with what he has been doing for years, but that's only because he has never quite met someone like Eden who is like a dog with a bone. Review: The Three Mrs. Greys - Shelly Ellis - March 2021 After reading and enjoying Taryn Fisher's book The Wives, I started to enjoy reading books about husbands that had multiple families as it got me thinking how skilled the guy must be to keep everything in order and making sure that his family never know about one another. More often than not, people like this have jobs where they are constantly "traveling" so a business trip is spending time with their other wives. In the Three Mrs. Greys by Shelly Ellis, we meet our husband Cyrus Grey and his first wife - Vanessa whom he has been married to for 11 years and they have three children. Review: What I Did - Kayla Krantz - June 2020 I was attracted to this book first from the cover, it is so creepy that it's awesome - the only downside is that the title and author's name are a bit harder to read. The other thing that drew me to this book was the fact that I love murder mysteries and with the main character being a teenager, I was hooked. This book introduces us to Jessica who on the outside looks like your average all-American girl - blonde, pretty but on the inside she is different. You could call her a sociopath - as her personality reminded me strongly of Dexter from the Jeff Lindsey series. Jessica works at a local grocery shop and has a stalker in Samuel and her best friend at work is Oscar.
