Looking for a fun light-hearted romance Teen/YA novel to read ? Review: Double Clutch - Book #1 Breanna Blixen Series - Liz Reinhardt - September 2011 It's interesting ,watching the shape and direction of where Teen fiction is going to head as the last year - Supernatural was on the rise and now a hint of Dystopian is coming to 2012. However, in the mix of it all is that light-hearted romance that us girls love to devour and probably secretly guys do too - trying to figure out how to get a girl to like him :). In Double Clutch , we meet Breanna Blixen she has just moved back from Denmark with her Mum and her husband- Breanna's stepdad Thorsten. After a year doing homeschool, it feels odd for Breanna to be in public school and around people her own age. It seems this year for Breanna will be the year of Love and decisions are to be made. On her first day of school , she meets Saxon - the brooding mysterious type , her partner in AP Government and Jake - he is in her Graphics des

As the hours and minutes countdown towards the end of 2011 , I have decided that since I'm not really the party person and I'm not really in the mood to watch TV or a movie , so I will spend my New Years Eve Blogger style and do a mini readathon and reviews :) Review: Hearts Communion - Book #3 Woodlands Series - August 2011 What if the one thing that you had always dreamed of having when you met the right person turned out never to happen ? Would you leave that person and settle for second best or would you accept that as God's plan and live happily ever after with that person ? Waiting For Pops - John Riffice

Looking for a biographical novel to read over the New Year Break ? Synopsis: Waiting For Pops - John Philip Riffice -2010 This is a biographical novel that moves between Johnny's youth and more recent times. It is a painful recollection of a childhood blighted by his parent's relationship problems, loss and addiction. Viewed from the eyes of a child it is clearer to the reader what is really going on than to Johnny himself, and having a young narrator probably makes the story more painful and poignant. Before his father dies and his sister is diagnosed their life seems happy and loving, despite the long hours and little money. This makes the contrast with what happens later even more stark. Johnny is brought up in a neighbourhood where gossip is rife and he is desperate to keep his mum's secret, so is left to deal with the results of her drinking alone. It covers what Johnny's teenage years were like growing up in 1950s Chicago which involve dealing with man

Love is Strong as Death - Rick and Nancy Fleeter

Synopsis : Love is Strong as Death - Rick and Nancy Fleeter - January 2011 "A moving tribute to a remarkable woman-by an equally remarkable man. This perspective into Rick and Nancy's struggle together and his acceptance of her death gives us a fresh view into ourselves." Dr. Steve Glazer, congregational rabbi and hospice chaplain Our modern lives are managed for us by experts in birthing, in exercise, in nutrition, in education, in choosing a mate, in distribution of news, entertainment, government and groceries. Nancy and I were not experts on any of these things, much less on facing life's most difficult passage-death. This book is our experience, two innocent novices, in dying, death and rebuilding one life where once there had been two. It offers no advice, only a window into this most personal, and at the same time universal, of human experiences.

Review: Matilda is Missing - Caroline Overington

Image
When I saw this new release by Caroline Overington , I knew I just had to read it as I had read her book "Ghost Child" and adored that book :) -one of my favourite reads. Are you on the lookout for a new Australian Author to read as we snuggle close to the upcoming Australia Day next month on the 26th January. Review: Matilda is Missing - Caroline Overington - October 2011 Reading the blurb of the book compared to the book itself will prepare you for only half of the story , a snippet that doesn't get revealed till halfway through the novel. From the title and the synopsis , I had a whole different view of what the novel would be like and about and as I turned the first page , I would be in for a shock. The novel starts not with Gary, Softie and Matilda but in fact with an entirely different family named "the Harrisons". Husband and Wife , Pat and Barry Harrison. The story begins with a struggle of their own , their youngest son Brian is getting married to a b

Get ready for the latest in the Alex Cross Series ............... Review: Kill Alex Cross - Book #18 Alex Cross Series - James Patterson- September 2011 Can you say WOW ? , I did as I opened up to begin Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson, especially when I discovered that this is the 18th book in the Alex Cross Series. Thinking about this brought back a conversation I had with a book lover's group "Bookaholics Anonymous" on Facebook about long-running series - the one in question was Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum as that's just made it's way to it's 18th book. Some people wrote that they couldn't get enough, while others said as they neared the 10th, 13th book- they stopped as they had just plainly had enough of that character. I found that with The Dresden Files , I read all the
