Review: Raven - Book #2.5 Delirium Series - Lauren Oliver - March 2013 What does one do when they want to read, but everything they try is just not grabbing them? They go exploring for something to hit the spot this morning after a series of failed DNFs. I was desperate for something and by then I just wanted a quick read too. Something to fill my reading spot and so scrolling through my Kindle, I came across a short story by Lauren Oliver called Raven. This was one of the short story spin-offs from her series Delirium. This brought back memories as I read Delirium when it was first released and loved it as the world of YA reading back then was all about the "Dystopian worlds". In this book, we meet Raven and Tack who are part of the Wilds - the ones helping Lena who was the main character of Delirium. The Wilds are the ones who haven't conformed to the world ideology, the ones who haven't been brainwashed into thinking that Love is a disease or a form of Deliria. I...

Review: Lying about Last Summer - Sue Wallman- May 2016 I had seen a posting on Instagram for one of this author's books and so I decided to head to the Libby library app and see what books were available the first one I grabbed was Lying About Last Summer by Sue Wallman. This book starts with two sisters Skye and her older sister Luisa. Luisa has been home with her boyfriend Nico, they fought and now another guy has come over. Luisa sends Skye away to protect her, but what will happen when Luisa ends up dead? Skye freezes and now her big sister is gone. The book then jumps to a new summer and it's been a year since Luisa died. Skye has been signed up for a Yellows Camp which helps other bereaved teens who have lost someone close to them. What happens though when Skye logs in to the private chat that she shared with her sister and starts receiving messages from her dead sister? Is it her sister or is someone messing with her? Also at the camp, we have creepy Joe who I do wish...

Review: Pretty Bones - Book #1 Bones - Erin Lee - February 2019 Two things drove me to read this book, the first of course is that it is written by one of my favorites and the second one was the cool cover. Pretty Bones is a story told from the perspective of Marlow Harris. She has grown up living in a funeral home as it is has been in her family for generations Harris and Sons and when her parents retire, as her family had no other children - she is supposed to take it on but in a way, Marlow wants something different as people only see her two ways "the creepy death girl" and the "girl with the weird bones" as Marlow also has a terminal disease where her bones are brittle and the slightest thing could break them. People with this disease are known as "glass children". I have to admit one thing why I love Erin Lee's books is that often things she writes, I can relate to my life growing up. My mum suffered from brittle bones as part of her disease w...
