Review: Folie A Deux - Book #2 Riverside Oak Mystery - LL Hunter - March 2024 One of my favorite YA thriller authors is LL Hunter and she is also one of my auto-buy authors. I will read anything she releases in the YA thriller vein as they are fast reads and easy to get sucked into. At the end of Book#1, we read that Amber's life turned upside down as she was transported to Paradise Academy. A school that trains students as Assassins. Now in Book #2 she is coming to terms with that her whole life was not as it seemed and that her boyfriend Talys is Indigo/ Blue - the son of her father's arch-nemesis and that when they met he had been tasked with killing her father. He never meant to fall in love with her, which is another thing that has painted a target on Amber aka Red's back as someone else is in love with Talys and is prepared to kill for him and set Amber up for murder. This book does include M/M action as two of the male characters have a sex scene. Amber has finally ...

Review: One of Them Is Dead - Book #1 Riverside Oak Mystery Series - LL Hunter- September 2023 I was so excited for this book to be released as I loved this author's Summervale Series. In Riverside Oak Mysteries, we meet Amber Delacorte who has just awoken in her house with blood on her head, a bloody rock, and her sister is missing. What has happened and why can't she remember? Did she get into a fight with her sister? Where is her sister's body? These are all questions Amber has as she suffers from temporary amnesia. Next door, she meets a guy her age who becomes her fast friend but with the rumors swirling Amber wants to get to the bottom of things and won't stop looking for her sister, even if it causes drama and mayhem as Amber's family isn't quite normal - they are a mobster family. The book then jumps to Amber looking for her sister and wakes up at a strange boarding school called Paradise Academy. What is she doing and will her questions be answered as...

Review: Love and Murder - Book #6 The Summervale Series - LL Hunter - July 2022 I have to admit I was in two minds about this book as it is the last in a series I have enjoyed, so I was sad to see it end but also, I felt at the same time a little letdown with this book. Those who have read the series will remember in Book #5 the crew started to receive thrilling notes again and stalkerish gifts and we read as Bobby was lured into captivity by newcomer Adrian. Then the book ended on a cliffhanger like the previous ones. Book #6 picks up with the crew being called and let know that Bobby is missing. Since they are a one-for an all-for-one friendship group, they pack up their lives and head back to Summervale. It's a trap though as the killer wanted them all back and is going to finish them off once and for all.  Darcie learns that her dad has escaped prison and is working with the new killer. I have to admit, I felt let down with the new killer as they were here and then the next o...

Review: Secrets and Lies - Book #5 Summervale Series - L.L Hunter - January 2022 If there was one YA thriller series that I would recommend everyone needs to read, it is the Summervale Series by LL Hunter. Each book is also a quick read and ends on a massive cliffhanger which leads the reader wanting to read and devour the following book. In Book #5 we read as the team is learning to live life away from Summervale and trying to move on as Darcie's dad is finally behind bars. Darcie and Dane are in California, Austin and Stacey are out in LA and Bobby are still at home interning with his dad at the police station. When Darcie decides to embrace her dad's storage locker - she learns about another unsolved mystery that will lead her not only to a body but a half-sibling. Will they welcome Darcie though with open arms as she was raised by her dad? Meanwhile, all the others are receiving some threatening notes as someone wants them to know they still aren't safe? Was someone e...
