Review: The Black Midnight - Book #7 True Colors Series - Kathleen Y'Barbo - August 2020 In the mood for some crime-related books, I decided for my first read for 2022 to be The Black Midnight by Kathleen Y'Barbo. A bit of background first is that the True Colors series are books that can be read as standalones and each story features a true crime that happened somewhere in the world mainly US/UK and told in a fictional account. For me, one of those books was Stalking Jack the Ripper. I tried back in March 2017 but couldn't finish it. Now with the release of Book # 3, I decided to give it another go. This time around I enjoyed it with all the twists and turns. The book starts with young Audrey working with her Uncle Jonathan in his morgue and attending his medical lessons out in public disguised as a boy.
