Review: Almost Me - K. Leigh Winters - Book #1 The Phoenix Chronicles - October 2016 Growing up , a favourite series of movies was The Cutting Edge . The movies featured an ice skater and her coach whom she eventually fell in love with, they followed her movements on the ice , her achievements and then the escapement from her parents. The ice was all the female character had ever known, it was what made her happy and then someone and something else came into her life and she was thrown off balance . The movies always did get a HEA in the end but it did take a lot of going back and forth.  For me, that's what I found Almost Me by K.Leigh Winters to be similar to as in the beginning we meet Claire who is out skating on the ice and we discover that - she and the ice have been friends for a very long time and it is or at least was her life. We also meet Alex, an ex-boyfriend who we can tell cares about Claire but can't seem to get through to her. Meeting Alex, I did wonder...

    Review: Reaching the Edge - Book #2.5 Edge Series - Jennifer Comeaux - January 2013 At the end of book #2 we read as Emily and Sergei established a relationship and eventually they got married. Book #2.5 is a quick 14-page read that tells the story after their wedding and their first romantic encounter together. Just to let people know, this is one of those 5-10 minute reads, that once you get stuck into the book -be careful as it will be over before you know it. Trust me I was shocked as I didn't realise. Fans of the movies Cutting the Ice and Ice Princess will enjoy the book "Reaching the Edge". Perfect if you are needing a quick on the go reading book or have a fancy for short stories and an itching for Ice Skating Tales this winter.     

    Today's VBT# stop is a review of Jennifer Comeaux's book "Life on the Edge" - the first book in her Edge series.   Review: Life on the Edge - Book #1 Edge Series - Jennifer Comeaux - January 2012 I find it interesting when you have a book sitting on your Ipad to read for so long and then you forget about it till something prompts you to finally read it. For me , that was Jennifer's book "Life on the Edge" as I have had it since it was released on my Kindle but for some reason I just hadn't got around to finishing it and then I was prompted by the tour to read and review it. So I dug out my Kindle App and searched for the book and got stuck into it. Reading it , it reminded me of a movie plot line that I think I watched in one of those Ice Skating movies I love so much as I have seen them all from The Cutting Edge Quartets to The Ice Princess and Ice Castles.  Life on the Edge is the story of Emily who is a champion ice-skater...
