Having a mad crush on her boss's son, Matt Lacroux--an intriguing mix
of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy--is probably not the
smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the
company, and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton
professor, Matt's life is hours away from Mira's home on Cape Cod,
keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to
six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are
all she has time for.
With hopes of becoming dean off the
table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away
to pursue, Matt's publishing contract couldn't have come at a better
time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on
starting his book, and finally getting his arms around sweet, seductive
Mira.
A surprise encounter leads to white-hot passions and
midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the
deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers
on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt's sabbatical is
only temporary, and Mira's not saving his father's company so she can
leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them
to change their life forever?

Review: A Veil of Vines - Tillie Cole

Review: A Veil of Vines - Tillie Cole - November 2016
Even though in today's society, a lot of the royal titles have been disestablished there are those in that circle - the upper class who still respect that royalty must marry royalty and that there is a high standard for breeding. One with a title before their name must never marry a commoner or someone beneath them. The royal world is also still the world where often arranged marriages are organized to preserve bloodlines and businesses working well together. Caresa Arcadia is a Duchess, and when she was little she imagined marrying a prince she loved, instead she is being told to marry Prince Zeno. Their families are in the wine business together, and now with Zeno's father passing, he has to stand up to the mark which includes putting aside his playboy ways, marrying the Duchess and taking over the wine business. The thing is that he doesn't love Caresa or the behind the scenes of the wine business. During their betrothal , Caresa stays at the families country villa while Zeno resides in the city, it is on the farm that Caresa meets Achilles - the winemaker. During the book, we discover that it should be these two marrying as they are split-mates, not Zeno and Caresa. I do have to admit that A Veil of Vines was predictable in the way it was going to end as I had guessed Achilles secret past about 3/4 the way through the novel, but it wasn't officially revealed until the last couple of chapters. A Veil of Vines was a good royal romance and one that shows readers that love can surprise and that even if you are not looking for it - it can show up in the most unexpected ways and more often than not if it is meant to be it will work in your favor.
VBT# Cursing Fate - Brenda Drake
You know how some
series you don't have to read the first book,
but often it does help - The Fated series is one of those series. I haven't
read the first book, but after the first
couple of chapters of Cursing Fate, I was able to understand the backstory of
the characters. Cursing Fate is the story of Iris and her ex-best friend and
ex-boyfriend Wade and how like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, their life got
flipped upside down. Iris comes from a family of tarot card readers and supernaturals; they also happen to be cursed.
Their curse causes fates to change and
can dish out curses to others by a touch of a powerful tarot card set held by a
fate changer. Iris's older sister Astor is a fate changer, and when she messes
around with the cards, it changed not
only Iris but also her twin sister's fates,
and their lives were displaced. Now Iris and her sister are trying to rebuild
their lives when Iris finds a set of Tarot cards when cleaning, she is drawn
and touches them which causes her to become by a tarot card/ psychic witch Crina. Crina
was the one who placed the curse originally
on the Van Buren family, which Astor's
boyfriend Reese belongs too. Can Iris's
sisters Violet and Daisy who has inherited the same gift as Astor save Iris
before it's too late and Crina has killed
her body? Cursing Fate was a good teen paranormal, and if you love curses and
myths/legends as well as the new age side of things,
then you will enjoy Brenda Drake's Fated Series.

Review : Madame X - Jasinda Wilder

Review: Madame X - Book #1 Madame X - October 2015
You
know how as a reader, there are so many awesome books being released every
single day and you purchase them, and
they end up going to the bottom of your pile and sometimes forgotten about
until something sparks up again and makes you think of that particular book. For me that was Jasinda Wilder's Madame X as I had
brought it as it sounded amazing but as time went by and I went off a lot of
erotica romance. I had a feeling it was going to be a bit like Sylvia Day or
Maya Banks books, and I was in two minds about reading it. However, I was in for a shock as I picked it up
and started reading it and within the first couple of pages, I was hooked. Madame X by Jasinda Wilder is one
of those few books that exceeded my expectations. There was just something
different about it; that kept the reader
entertained. Madame X, we are under the
impression she is an escort of sorts but
turns out she is in fact almost like a life-coach where she teaches the rich
boys to behave like a gentleman. She has
no recollection of her past except for a few nightmares,
and since she cannot remember her real name, she only goes by Madame X. The only guy and person she can count on are Caleb- the one who saved her but this is
all about to change when Logan comes on the scene,
and suddenly Madame X starts questioning her current situation. What will happen though when she discovers that Caleb
isn't necessarily who he seems and that
while she has been living in isolation of the 13th floor, he has a business filled with several women wanting to be escorts, companions, and brides?
When Madame X gets a chance for freedom will she take it or will she find
herself being pulled back into the world of Caleb?
What will happen when Logan gives her a clue to her past, will it question her feelings towards Caleb especially when
he could have done the same? Is Caleb
protecting Madame X for her own good or is he playing a sick twisted game of
master/slave? Find out in this amazing
read by Jasinda Wilder, a book that has got me hooked and wanting to read more
by this author.
