Review: Power Rangers Prime - Volume #3 - Various Contributors

Review: Power Rangers Prime - Volume #3 - Various Contributors - April 2026
There are some things from childhood that never really leave you, and for me, the Power Rangers are definitely one of them! When I was around six or seven years old, I was absolutely obsessed with the Power Rangers. I desperately wanted to be the Pink Ranger, because let's face it, who didn't want to be Kimberly? Unfortunately, my sister was already Kimberly, and apparently, there was only room for one in the family! So, naturally, I ended up being the Red Power Ranger instead. Not quite the outcome I had planned, but hey, someone had to save the world!
Fast-forward to today, and picking up Power Rangers Prime Volume #3 brought back a lovely wave of childhood nostalgia, although this latest chapter is certainly taking the Rangers in some exciting new directions.
The third volume of this reimagined Power Rangers saga throws readers straight into the action as a mysterious figure arrives in Angel Grove, threatening to change everything between the Rangers and the VR Troopers. Meanwhile, Rita's manipulations are becoming increasingly dangerous, and the reveal of the first Prime Zord raises the stakes even higher.
What I particularly enjoyed about this instalment is that it's not just about spectacular battles, villains and giant Zords. There's also plenty happening beneath the surface, with the Rangers pushed to their emotional and physical limits. The pressure is mounting, relationships are being tested, and the arrival of a villain connected to the Rangers' past makes you wonder just how much their future is about to change.
Melissa Flores continues to bring fresh energy to the Power Rangers mythology, while Michael YG's artwork helps deliver the action, intensity and larger-than-life moments that make this universe so much fun to revisit. There's a real sense that this story is building towards something much bigger, and I loved seeing familiar elements given a fresh spin rather than simply relying on nostalgia.
As someone who grew up wanting to morph into the Pink Ranger (even if family politics landed me in red!), there's something rather special about returning to this world as an adult. It reminds me why these characters captured my imagination in the first place, while giving me something new to enjoy.
Power Rangers Prime Volume #3 is an action-packed, entertaining addition to the series, with plenty of twists, drama and exciting developments to keep fans turning the pages. Whether you've been a Ranger fan since childhood or are discovering this reimagined universe for the first time, there's plenty here to enjoy.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm still claiming dibs on being the Pink Ranger next time!
