Review: Secrets and Lies - Book #5 Summervale Series - L.L Hunter - January 2022

If there was one YA thriller series that I would recommend everyone needs to read, it is the Summervale Series by LL Hunter. Each book is also a quick read and ends on a massive cliffhanger which leads the reader wanting to read and devour the following book. In Book #5 we read as the team is learning to live life away from Summervale and trying to move on as Darcie's dad is finally behind bars. Darcie and Dane are in California, Austin and Stacey are out in LA and Bobby are still at home interning with his dad at the police station. When Darcie decides to embrace her dad's storage locker - she learns about another unsolved mystery that will lead her not only to a body but a half-sibling. Will they welcome Darcie though with open arms as she was raised by her dad? Meanwhile, all the others are receiving some threatening notes as someone wants them to know they still aren't safe? Was someone else helping Darcie's dad or is there a new killer in Summervale? Can the team save another from being killed off as the book ends on another major cliffie which, to be honest - I had a feeling as something didn't sit right with me about this character but I had hoped I was wrong.  I am now looking forward and waiting patiently for Book #6 to be released.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost.
